    17U Female Head Coach - Michael Tan

    Michael Tan has been involved with the Manitoba Provincial Team program in different capacities at the 15U and 17U levels since 2009.  Michael was the head coach of the 2011 Western Canada Games team and an assistant coach with the 2017 Canada Games Team that won a Bronze medal.  In 2016, he began working as an assistant coach with the Center of Performance program.

    Michael has been a coach at Sisler High School for the past 15 years.  He is a past Provincial champion and Basketball Manitoba Awards Coach of the Year.  His teams are consistently in the top 10 and since taking over the Varsity Girls program, several of his players have gone on to play at the College, USport and NCAA Division 1 levels.

    He has coached various teams at all levels, from junior high, to the club system with the Manitoba Magic and  NABA Winnipeg.  Along with coaching the Varsity Girls at Sisler, he is also coaching the Grade 8 Girls team at Stanley Knowles.

    Michael is a graduate of Daniel McIntyre Collegiate and the University of Manitoba.
