    15U Female Head Coach - JP Beauchemin

    For the last decade, JP Beauchemin has been heavily involved in Manitoba's basketball community. In 2016, he was the Head Coach of the 15U female Provincial Team that came up just short against Team Ontario, finishing 4th. JP was an Assistant Coach with the University of Manitoba Bisons Women’s Basketball team for 9 years, first under Head Coach Pam Danis, and later for Michèle Sung (Hynes) until 2016.

    JP holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Education from the University of Manitoba. He left Manitoba to continue his studies pursuing an Education Degree with a minor in Coaching from the University of North Dakota.

    JP has been heavily involved with teams at the club level, including the Junior Bisons, JRB and Big Country Basketball female club teams. Most recently, he co-founded Prairie Elite Basketball Academy, a program focusing on development and mental toughness training for female athletes both locally and rurally in Manitoba. For the past two summers, JP has co-head coached summer teams for Prairie Elite, competing in the United States.

    JP has a wide range of head coaching experience in addition to returning to as head coach of the 15U female Provincial Team, which includes head coaching the Juvenile (19U) female basketball team silver medallists at the North American Indigenous Games in 2014, and the 2012 Manitoba Summer Games Central 16U and Westwood Warriors JV female basketball teams. He recently revived his officiating skills in the province and is excited to return to Manitoba’s Provincial program.
