The City of Winnipeg run Sport Programs in Inner-City Neighborhoods (SPIN) program is seeking basketball coaches to get involved with their after-school youth basketball program.  SPIN is a free sports program, designed for children 8-14 years residing in inner-city neighbourhoods, which will enable them to participate and learn basic skill development, sportsmanship, teamwork, leadership and fair play in a non-competitive environment.

SPIN BASKETBALL 

Program Dates:          OCTOBER – DECEMBER (9-12 week program)
Times:                         after school, evenings, possible Saturday afternoon
Locations:                    Various Schools and Community Centres around Winnipeg
Age groups:                 Approximately 8 – 14-year-olds.
Skill level of kids:         Intro to more experienced, basic skill-based instruction.
Coach Honourarium:   $25.00 / hour
Application deadline: October 1, 2018 by 5:00pm

If you are accepted as a coach, you can accept as many or as few coaching dates as you wish.  Priority will be given to those that accept more/greater number of coaching opportunities.

Our Commitment:
SPIN through its partners can provide each Host Site with basic equipment, training for onsite leaders, one hour of coaching per week and assistance with coordinating the program.
