KidSport is a children’s charity, administered by Sport Manitoba, designed to help children ages 5-18 overcome financial barriers so they can participate in sport. Based on demonstrated need, assistance of up to $300 per individual per year is allocated to help offset the cost of sport program registration fees. KidSport also collects new and used equipment and distributes it to children who cannot afford to purchase their own.

Sport activities/programs must be affiliated with organizations recognized by Sport Manitoba (including BASKETBALL), costs relating to camps, travel and championships do not qualify.

KidSport raises funds through corporate donations, foundation grants, planned giving and special activities and events. 100% of fundraising proceeds and donations are directed back to children in need. Funding allocations are administered by the Sport Manitoba Regional Offices.

KidSport has recently made changes to the funding application form. It has never been easier for everyone to participate!

Application deadlines for KidSport - are April 30th and October 15th of each year. Winnipeg has an additional intake deadline on July 15th.

KidSport is national charity administered by Sport Manitoba that helps to remove barriers and Assist less fortunate children participate in sport - so all kids can play.

Funding Application Forms 

Based on demonstrated need, assistance of up to $300 per individual is available to children between the ages of 5 and 18 to help offset the cost of registration fees. Provincial Sport Organizations must recognize planned activities.

Application deadlines for all regions are April 30th and October 15th of each year. Winnipeg Region also has an additional application deadline of July 15th.

Based on demonstrated need, assistance of up to $500 per individual is available to KidSport eligible applicants who have been identified by their provincial sport organization as a high performance provincial level athlete.

Sports Equipment

KidSport's new and used recycling equipment program helps to outfit less fortunate children to enable their participation in sport. Both individuals and organizations are eligible to apply.

To make a financial or equipment donation contact Sport Manitoba or any Sport Manitoba Regional Office.

Donations of equipment can also be dropped off at the following Winnipeg locations:
