The Junior Officials Development Program (JODP) is designed to improve the overall level of officiating in the Junior High / Middle School & Minor basketball leagues.
Junior Officials Development Program

Basketball Manitoba is pleased to offer the 'Junior Officials Development Program' (JODP) clinics for people new to refereeing that are 15 years of age or older. The program is designed to improve the overall level of officiating in the Junior High / Middle School & Minor basketball leagues.

JUNIOR REFEREE CLINIC NOTES:
  • The clinic cost $75.00 (includes GST) per person to attend.
  • Clinics are typically offered on a Saturday and run 9:00 am to 4:30 pm.
  • We typically offer our referee clinics in September, October, November and again in April.
  • These clinics will cover such aspects as game rules, floor mechanics, hand signals, referee philosophy and more.
  • The clinics will be based on the current FIBA (international) rules system only.
  • All clinic attendees will receive a printed copy of the current FIBA rulebook. You can view / print your own copy of the FIBA ruleboo k.
  • Upon completion, you will be a certified "Junior Basketball Official", by the Manitoba Association of Basketball Officials (MABO). Those that become certified will be eligible to officiate in the WMBA, Junior High Leagues and the Basketball Manitoba Junior High Invitational Tournament.
  • All clinic registrations are done online.
  • You first need to register with our website (no cost) or login at the top right of any page to begin.
  • You can find a current list of all JODP Clinics on the right hand side of any page under the large orange arrow. Click one of the dates shown to begin the registration process.
  • If you do not see a list of clinics to the right be sure you are registered with our website as you will now receive an automatic notification on when the next clinics are offered.

To register for a JODP clinic you must be 15 years of age or older the year of the clinic.

You can find a current list of all JODP Clinics on the right hand side of this page under the orange arrow. Click one of the dates shown to begin the registration process. If you do not see a list of clinics to the right, you must first REGISTER WITH THE WEBSITE or login at the top of the page to proceed.
