Canada Basketball National Membership Program (NMP)

Program Overview

  • $5.00 per person (or $50.00 / team) from all active coaches, referees and players in the country.
  • Fee is to come in annually and is blended into the current Basketball Manitoba Membership Fees of $150, totalling $200 plus GST ($210) per team.
  • The $5.00 NMP fee goes directly to Canada Basketball to be a part of…
  1. ONE DOLLAR to Coach Development including the creation and management of the new National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP) and its role in Long Term Athlete Development (LTAD).  All players deserve a certified and educated coach!
  2. ONE DOLLAR to Player Development including the growth of the new national Steve Nash Youth Basketball (SNYB) program into communities with little to no basketball opportunities.  All players deserve an enjoyable and beneficial start to their basketball experience and are getting this in the SNYB!
  3. ONE DOLLAR to Referee Development including the move to a national referee certification program which will take the best practices from what is currently happening in each province nation wide!  With all basketball rules now unified country wide – its time to make the process that referees flow-though consistent and unified!
  4. ONE DOLLAR to Ensure Canada is on the World Basketball Stage including using the 3 already mentioned above factors to ensure our country is represented at world basketball events including the Olympics and World Championships among others for all our national programs.  Be it players, coach or referees, our best and brightest need the challenges of a global event to be and stay their best!
  5. ONE DOLLAR to Increase Government and Corporate support opportunities which can be greatly expanded on with a solid national membership program connecting our country as one!  Our sport as a whole will be able to sell itself to the public and private sectors more effectively which will open doors to unlimited possibilities for us all!

We hope you enjoy your experience

in the WSWBL this season!
