The Winnipeg Senior Women’s Basketball League is open to women ages 18 and up and has 3 different divisions and is run by an appointed executive.

New and Returning Teams (TOP)
All new and returning teams are expected to provide a team representative to the Fall Planning Meeting (date shown above) to collect more information and to discuss the upcoming season. Check out our new feature on 'How To... Create a Senior Team'. All teams reps and team members are required to register with the Basketball Manitoba web site in order to stay informed on league activities. PLEASE REGISTER NOW !
Individuals (TOP)
All 'Individuals' are required to register with the Basketball Manitoba web site in order to stay informed on league activities. Those looking to play this season but are currently without a team are asked to EMAIL us your name, age, height, and brief basketball history (years experience, position, level of play, etc) as soon as possible! We will share this information with existing teams in the league in hopes we can help make a connection. It is suggested that you attempt to create your own team by reviewing the 'How to...' link. Remember, you must first Register with the site in order to be accepted on the individual list!
WSWBL Timelines- 2009-2010 (TOP)
- Tuesday, Sept. 14 - 7:00 - 9:00 pm - Fall Planning Meeting @ Sport Manitoba, 145 Pacific Avenue (Conference Room B & C). All teams must provide their $100 deposit to the league. Only certified cheques or money orders payable to 'WSWBL' will be accepted.
- TBA- Remaining team fees of $1400 & Registration Forms (see links below) due into the Basketball Manitoba office or to Jane Edstrom at JH Bruns Collegiate. Only certified cheques or money orders payable to 'WSWBL' will be accepted.
- TBA Round 1 Schedules Released (see links below)
- TBA - Round 1 begins
- TBA - Round 1 ends
- TBA- Round 2 Schedules Released (see links below)
- TBA- Round 2 begins
- TBA - Season ends, including playoffs.

Membership Fee (TOP)
The annual Basketball Manitoba Team Membership Fee of $150 plus $50 Canada Basketball National Team Membership which totals $200 (plus GST) is broken down into three categories.

$50 insurance premium

$75 administrative support/office support/website

$25 membership fee
- $50 national membership
Canada Basketball National Membership Program (NMP)
Program Overview
- $5.00 per person (or
$50.00 / team) from all active coaches, referees and players in the
country.
- Fee is to come in
annually and is blended into the current Basketball Manitoba Membership
Fees of $150, totalling $200 plus GST ($210) per team.
- The $5.00 NMP fee goes
directly to Canada Basketball to be a part of…
- ONE DOLLAR to Coach Development including the
creation and management of the new National Coaching Certification Program
(
NCCP) and its role in Long Term Athlete Development ( LTAD). All players deserve a certified and
educated coach!
- ONE DOLLAR to Player Development including the
growth of the new national Steve Nash Youth Basketball (
SNYB) program into
communities with little to no basketball opportunities. All players deserve an enjoyable and
beneficial start to their basketball experience and are getting this in
the SNYB!
- ONE DOLLAR to Referee Development including the move
to a national referee certification program which will take the best
practices from what is currently happening in each province nation
wide! With all basketball rules now
unified country wide – its time to make the process that referees flow-though
consistent and unified!
- ONE DOLLAR to Ensure Canada is on the World
Basketball Stage including using the 3 already mentioned above factors
to ensure our country is represented at world basketball events including
the Olympics and World Championships among others for all our national
programs. Be it players, coach or
referees, our best and brightest need the challenges of a global event to
be and stay their best!
- ONE DOLLAR to Increase Government and
Corporate support opportunities which can be greatly expanded on
with a solid national membership program connecting our country as
one! Our sport as a whole will be
able to sell itself to the public and private sectors more effectively
which will open doors to unlimited possibilities for us all!

WMBA Senior Spring
League – Deadline to enter is mid-March (TOP)
The Winnipeg Minor Basketball Association is offering a league specific for women's teams at the 18+ age level
again this Spring. The Senior League will run from mid-April through to the end
of June with games being played weeknights at the local universities and high
