The Federal Government is now offering a tax credit to families who have their children involved in physical activities – including basketball. Basketball Manitoba will gladly issue a proper receipt to families on request for the amounts paid into the Provincial Team Program. Based on the tax guidelines, the value of the combined credit to a Manitoba resident will result in a $132 tax credit per child (based on a maximum eligible claim of $500 per child; 15.5% federally and 10.9% provincially of the eligible credit amount).
