The University of Manitoba women's team won the first ever Basketball
Manitoba Summer League defeating their cross-town rivals the University
of Winnipeg Wesmen 61-58, in a hard fought final game. The fans piled
into the Investors Group Athletic Center to see these two teams battle
it our once again...this time in the middle of the summer. Lauren
Mortier lead all scorers with 22 points and Mubo Ilelaboye scored 15 and
earned the league's MVP award. Congratulations the Lady Bisons and the
Lady Wesmen for an entertaining and well played finals. In the 3rd place game...

Basketball Manitoba in partnership with the University of Manitoba, is proud to be hosting the 2010 Canada Basketball Male National Championships this summer in Winnipeg. The 20 team event
will run August 2-7 at the south Winnipeg campus. The event will feature the top 250 male basketball
players ages 15-17 in Canada who will battle for the National Crown, including some members of the Canadian National Men's Cadet Team who captured the Bronze medal at last week's 17U Cadet World Championships in Germany. For full details...

The Manitoba Bisons men’s basketball team will begin their 2010-11 season earlier than usual while hosting a new opponent. For the first time in over a quarter century, Manitoba will play a NCAA (National Collegiate Athletic Association) Division 1 school at the University of Manitoba campus when the Bisons host the South Dakota State University Jackrabbits in exhibition play on Tuesday, August 24 and Friday, August 27 at 7:30 pm CT both nights at the Investors Group Athletic Centre (IGAC).

BRANDON, MB – Men’s basketball coach Gil Cheung has officially announced his first recruit for the 2010-2011 season. One of Cheung’s present players played a big part in bringing 6’3” shooting guard O’Brian Wallace to Brandon University. A transfer from Algoma University College in Sault Ste. Marie, Wallace averaged 16.0 points per game, 5.0 rebounds per game and 4.0 rebounds per game in his third year of eligibility last year.
