FIBA Announces New Rules Changes Effective October 2017

FIBA, the international governing body for the sport of basketball, has finalized the 2017 basketball rulebook that took effect on October 1. All changes are highlighted in yellow or blue. There are significant changes to the travelling rule, unsportsmanlike fouls as well as to equipment in terms of headgear and undergarments. MABO will be reviewing rule changes at all upcoming clinics.

Please take some time to familiarize yourself with the changes in the below documents.  A five page summary document of the changes can be found HERE.

A good resource website that illustrates a number of the changes with sample videos including those tied to the new travelling violation and unsportsmanlike fouls along with others can be seen HERE.
