It is no surprise that Winnipeg’s Emmanuel Akot has emerged as one of Canada’s finest young basketball players. For those who know him, it’s also unsurprising that he has committed to play NCAA Division 1 basketball for the University of Arizona Wildcats in 2018-19.The 6-foot-8, 198-pound small forward who has played his last two seasons at Wasatch Academy Prep in Mt. Pleasant, Utah, is ranked No. 28 in the 2018 Rivals 150 NCAA Prep scouting service and just participated in one of the most prestigious basketball camps in the world. He made the announcement on his Instagram account on Thursday. Arizona is the top team in the Pac-12 with a record of 27-4. The Wildcats are currently ranked No. 7 in the NCAA Men’s Basketball Coaches Poll.
