The Junior Bobcats club basketball program is gearing up for another season of competitive club basketball. Junior Bobcats is a Brandon University affiliated basketball program for young females.

Junior Bobcats is an intense, competitive and fun spring basketball program. Participants will train at a high level and play in multiple tournaments and games.

"Junior Bobcats is a great opportunity for young females to continue to play basketball outside of their school seasons and get exposure to different styles of coaching and competition.  Travelling throughout the province and to neighbouring provinces is a great experience for young basketball players," says Bobcats Women's Basketball Coach and Junior Bobcats Director/Head Coach Novell Thomas.

"I continue to be involved and vested in this program and happy to offer club basketball to youth in the area," Thomas adds.

The season begins with a series of try-outs for any interested participants.

Try-outs will be on the following dates at the Brandon University Healthy Living Centre:
Monday March 21 – 4:15-6p (U14 & U15); 6-8p (U16 and U17)
Tuesday March 22 – 4:15-6p (U14 & U15); 6-8p (U16 and U17)
Try-out cost: $36 + gst (gst only applies for participants 15yrs and older)

Selected Junior Bobcats members who make the final roster will play as slate of games and tournaments as well as participate in Manitoba Club Provincials.  Junior Bobcat teams will practice 2-3 times per week. Practice times will be circulated once the teams have been selected.

The purpose of the Junior Bobcats program is to develop players and have more youth from the region playing basketball. Playing time will be granted to those who demonstrate the following (in no particular order): great work ethic; great attitude; commitment to practices; an understanding of team concepts; and the ability to apply team concepts.
