The Team Flex Basketball Club recently held a food drive over the weekend of Halloween. Instead of trick or treating, the athletes went out into their neighbourhoods and gathered food for Winnipeg Harvest with the help of the generous residents of St. James, Charleswood, River Heights and Westwood.

Donations included pastas, canned veggies, baby foods, cereals and canned fruits. As a group, Team Flex collected over 600 pounds of food for those who need it most.

The food drive was aimed at helping Winnipeg Harvest gather food in preparation for the upcoming holiday season and to help encourage youth to understand that there's always something they can do to both help and give back to their communities.

Thanks to all the athletes, parents and the extended community that helped make the food drive a huge success!

Team Flex is also hosting a blood drive in conjunction with Canadian Blood Services on November 23, 2015 between 3:30pm and 7:30pm at the 777 William Ave Blood Donor Clinic! You are welcome and encouraged to stop in, say hi and help save a life!
