    Cost:
    $40 per player (includes both tryout days)

    2014 FALL SKILLS CAMPS
    **OPEN TO ANYONE, NO TRYOUT NECESSARY

    Session #1:
    Open to girls Grade 3 to Grade 8
    **The groups will be split into two courts, when applicable, according to experience and skills 
    Sundays ONLY

    Open to girls Grade 9 to Grade 12

    $150 per participant



    Program Description: 

    The Junior Bison skills camps will be led by University of Manitoba Bison Women’s Basketball Head Coach Michele Hynes along with her staff and athletes. These skills camps are designed for players looking to further develop their individual and team skills and tactics.

    2014-15 SEASON AND TOURNAMENT INFORMATION
    The Junior Bison Basketball Club was designed to further develop elite female basketball players ages 9-18 in the province of Manitoba.


    For the 2014-15 Season the Junior Bison Girls Basketball Club will field 4 teams:

    Grades 5 & 6
    Grades 7 & 8
    Grades 9 & 10
    Grades 11 & 12*
    *The Grade 11/12 team is geared towards ELITE athletes and the team will be joining the PEBL (Prairie Elite Basketball League) which is run by CIS coaches across Western Canada created for ELITE players looking to play University basketball

    Program Outline:

    Grades 5 & 6 Team AND Grade 7 & 8 Team

    Season Dates: November 2-May 25, 2014 (24 total programming weeks)
    -November 2-December 13, 2014 (6 weeks)
    -Fall Skill Development
    -Sundays 5:00-6:30pm & 1 weekday per week (aiming for Tuesdays) 6:00-7:30pm
    -Strength & Conditioning Sundays 6:45-7:45pm
    -1-2 exhibition games
    -January 4-30, 2015 (4 weeks)
    -Winter Skill Development
    -Sundays 5:00-6:30pm & 1 weekday per week (aiming for Tuesdays) 6:00-7:30pm
    -Strength & Conditioning Sundays 6:45-7:45pm
    -3-4 exhibition games
    -Spring Competitive Season
     -Practice 2 times per week for 1.5 hours per practice
     -Off Court Strength and Conditioning 2 times per week (same days of week as practices)
    -3-4 exhibition games 
    -Compete in 3 Tournaments
                  -Regina Hornets Tournament:  May 15-17, 2015 Regina, SK
                  -Memorial Day Classic Shootout:  May 23-24, 2014 Menomonie, WI
    -Host Tournament at University of Manitoba-TBD

    Approximate cost per player (based on a team of 10 athletes and 2 coaches): 
    $1500 (includes 10 week fall and winter skill development session, 14 week spring competitive season practice facility rental, coaching services, strength and conditioning fees, sport psychology and nutritionists, tournament entry fees, equipment and supplies and administration costs). This price does not include family travel costs or club apparel (approx. $325).


    Grades 9 & 10 

    Season Dates: November 2-June 13, 2014 (18 total programming weeks)
    -November 2-December 13, 2014 (6 weeks)

    -In order to respect the High School Basketball programs there will be no programming in the months of January and February for this age group.
    -March 24-June 13, 2015 (12 weeks)
    -Spring Competitive Season
     -Practice 2 times per week for 2 hours per practice
     -Off Court Strength and Conditioning 2 times per week (same days of week as practices)
    -3-4 exhibition games 
    -Compete in 4 Tournaments
                  -Regina Hornets Tournament:  May 15-17, 2015 Regina, SK
