Hours of Work: 20 hours/week in May & June. 10 our days on 7 Saturdays in July & August. 



Wage: $20.00 / hour

The SWISH Basketball Committee is seeking a highly motivated individual to fill the position of SWISH Program Coordinator for this coming Spring/Summer. The position will involve administrative and on-court promotional activities work in May and June with 20 hours per week plus the scheduled SWISH sessions on Saturdays from June 29 to August 10. 



The successful candidate will work as a liaison to the SWISH Committee managing all aspects of the program including, but not limited to:



  • Taking responsibility for the implementation of the SWISH action plan and risk management plan.

  • Coordinate the relationship building and recruitment process with schools and community partners.

  • Coordinate the training and management for event staff (e.g., First Aid, NVCPI, CRC) 

  • Facilitate the U of M event staff hiring process.

  • Supervise staff and oversee on-site activities during SWISH Saturdays.

  • Conduct basketball clinics and promotion activities at schools/communities.

  • Coordinate event promotion, evaluation and media relations.

  • Other duties as assigned.



Skills and Abilities:



  • Exceptional planning and organizational skills.

  • Excellent verbal, written, electronic and related communication skills and capacities.

  • Ability to work independently involving simultaneous tasks, operations and requests.

  • Ability to work effectively within an organizational structure that includes both staff and volunteers.

  • Ability to actively listen and respond to others’ communications and concerns, and communicate thoughts and express complex ideas in simple terminology.

  • Sound computer skills.

  • A valid driver’s licence with access to a vehicle is ideal.
