Providence University College Athletics has announced the signing of Colten Gryba as the new Head Coach of its Men’s Basketball team.  Gryba is a Providence alumnus who brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the team. Some of his roles over the past few years have been the Head Coach of the Steinbach Regional School Junior and Varsity boys basketball teams, South East Storm Basketball Club team, and the Green Valley School varsity boys team. It was a Green Valley School where Colten had his greatest success as a coach where he led the school to their best finish at Provincials in school history with a Bronze medal showing.  Colten has also been in the Assistant Coach role with the Winnipeg Elites Club, 15U Manitoba Provincial Team, Providence University College Men’s team, and most recently the Canadian Mennonite University Men’s team.

Providence Athletic Director Scott Masterson is thrilled to have Colten on board and shared this after the signing. “Colten is an alumnus of Providence, has been an assistant coach with our men’s team, has a wealth of coaching experience within Manitoba, and shares our vision and mission for the program. I am excited to have Colten join our program as Head Coach and am confident that he has what it takes to move our program in a positive direction.”



Colten will assume his responsibilities immediately.
